Xbox Game Studios is a Department of American Software Concerning Microsoft, which is responsible for the development and publication of computer games for the Windows operating system and the in-house game consoles of the Xbox brand. Microsoft s CFO Amy Hood explained in this context that the company was able to deliver more Xbox consoles of Series X and S as expected, even if demand continues to exceed the offer. The bottlenecks will continue for a while. Microsoft s Xbox boss Phil Spencer warned ahead of some time ago that the supply bottlenecks could last until 2022.
Turnover with Xbox content and services barely increases
Microsoft s total revenue from the game area increased by 16 percent - to 3.6 billion dollars in the recent quarter.
Less dynamics showed the pure software range: Turnover with Xbox content and services could only grow by 2 percent. According to Microsoft, there has been a certain growth in the Xbox Game Pass Subscriptions. Recently, however, the RedMonds had to grant that the increase in Xbox Game Pass was lower than expected.
The actual number of Xbox Game pass subscribers keeps Microsoft. The last publicly announced number was 18 million in January 2021.
Ultimately, Microsoft is optimistic. Hood expects Microsoft in the second quarter a revenue growth in Xbox content and services in the middle tens area. The successive Xbox Game Pass publications should be helped, including Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite.
