Xbox Series X | S reach 8 million consoles sold, and Game Pass exceeds 20 million users

The new generation goes stern wind for Microsoft. Although there is no official data of the company itself, the analyst Daniel Ahmad has shared sales and user estimates.

A couple of days ago we anticipate what is now confirmed (always as an estimate): Xbox series X | S have already exceeded 8 million consoles sold, since its launch in November 2020.

This is a great data for Xbox s expectations, because it confirms that both X series and Series S are sold at a better rhythm than Xbox One, despite stock problems.

In the absence of an official figure given by Microsoft, this indicative of 8 million consoles sold implies growth in the company s hardware numbers. The same can be said of the services.

In January 2021, Xbox Game Pass recorded a total of 18 million users. Well, Ahmad himself has confirmed that the service already has more than 20 million subscribers.

This data reinforces even more what Xbox expects from the future: Greater investment in hardware and software, reinforce services (Xbox Game Pass, Xcloud) and continue studying new expansion pathways.

Recently, Microsoft revealed in its report that Hardware sales Xbox increased 166% with respect to previous periods. And the same thing said of Xbox Game Pass, although without giving accurate figures.
